A Pitch That Only Dogs Can Hear

Ever heard the saying, "Singing at the pitch that only dogs can hear?" I know that I've heard it many times in reference to my bad singing around the house.

Dog

Although a dog's learning and verbal capacity is an average of 400 words, their ability to hear is four times sharper than humans. They are better at hearing at high pitch sounds. This explains why my dog looks at me confused when I try and sing along to some of the radio hits while cleaning the house.

Although the dog is a relative of the wolf, a wolf barks as an alarm whereas the dog barks as part of his general communication characteristic.

Howling in dogs is used as a communication between two dogs, where whimpering and whining are used more as attention seeking communication between pet and owner/master.

Not all dogs reply vocally when they hear something either from another dog or from their master. A physical acknowledgement is when their ears are perked or their head is raised. By shifting the angle of their ears, they can pin point the exact location of the of certain sound waves and emotional tone.
